LabResultsDesk™ is a secure patient results message delivery and lab results message delivery voice mail system that sends confidential test results to your patients using your recorded voice. This lab message service reduces incoming phone calls and eliminates unnecessary phone tagging.

You simply record the lab results message for patients using any phone or computer. The system will notify patients with the availability of their lab results and it will provide a number for them to call with instructions to hear the message. Your patients can dial in any time and listen to your messages. Best of all, you have no software or hardware to install or maintain and you can manage our service via any phone and computer connected to an internet.

According to a study in Archives of Internal Medicine (June 2009), primary care clinicians and their staff sometimes failed to inform patients of lab or screening tests. It was also mentioned that clinicians failed to keep records that they notified patients of abnormal test results (about one out of every 14 abnormal tests).

With LabResultsDesk™, you never need to worry about record keeping because it automatically logs time-stamped entries of when the patient was notified, when they accessed your message, and how many times. LabResultsDesk™ also provides a detailed web-based report.

If the results of a patient are routine, you can select a message that you have previously recorded and send it to the patient. If the results require a personally recorded message, you can select that option. You may also leave a message for multiple patients in a single phone call.

Here are the steps involved in the message recording and retrieval of test results:

Patient Card Example

  1. You create the patient’s lab account using our web-based portal when your patient reports for lab work. You will need to provide the patient card (See example card on right) to your patient. The patient card gives instructions on how to retrieve messages 24/7 using a touch-tone phone.
  2. When the results came in, you dial in our toll-free number or local area code number and record the message for the patient. Caller ID of your office and secure PINs ensure that only authorized personnel can record messages.
  3. Our system will automatically call your patient to let them know that their test results are ready.
  4. Patient will dial our toll-free number or local area code number at their convenience and log in to listen to their message. They may call in to hear this message for up to 30 days, and then the messages are archived and stored in our system.
  5. You view the detailed reports of all messages in real time that are retrieved/not retrieved by your patients with color coded icons using our web-based portal.
